A Stop By The Lake

We took a break from the road and headed to the lake for a few days.  We got a nice day and hung out on the dock.  Even Jack came out, the first time since he fell off last year.

We got BBQ from our favorite restaurant in Livingston.... Florida's.  There are quite a few run-down, out of business, buildings around town.  The first few times we drove past Florida's, we thought it was just another one of the abandoned businesses.  Then we drove by on a Saturday, and the parking lot was PACKED.  We thought we'd better give it a try.

The BBQ smoker out back is in amidst piles of discarded chairs, an old sink, and an smashed up Florida's sign, among other things.

It started out as a small house, and then they just kept adding on.  The floor height and coverings change with each addition.  The kitchen is in the middle of the restaurant and open on 2 sides.

Did I mention it is DELICIOUS!!  Everything is down home, southern cookin'.  Buttermilk pie, sweet tea, fried cat fish, potato salad.  Ribs that'll send you straight to heaven, served with white bread, a pile of onions and a pile of dill pickles. When you come to visit us, we will definitely take you there.

Really enjoyed our days to recharge at the lake.
Back on the road again.
